Democracy is not an online game. Democracy is not making
referendums because you are not brave to decide. Democracy is not populism. Democracy
is choosing a leader to lead a nation where is capable to do so and let him do it.
Referendums are the ideal way to divide and conquer. Great
Britain now is a divided ex-Empire. With no dream, with no direction, no
leadership is fading away.
It
is emotional seeing the fruitless efforts now to save the Queen.
An Empire that set up on 1707 by unifying Scotland and England became a
“YES”
and “NO” fragile coalition without reason. This does not deserve to
British people. Their history, their present and their future.
GB made its historical fault when refused to participate
in Euro currency. When United Nations of Europe made one step beyond and headed
for a powerful unity UK chose to be left behind on its own. But when someone is stranded
there is no future for him in this fierce World.
Europe leaders, Germany and France ones among others, underestimated
that fact seeing narrow just a possible gap of power in decisions making mechanism for them to
fill in. In the end nowadays British Counselor in European Committee is packing his things
to go outside Europe leaving his post to another nation. Is this what EU was seeking for?
Even if UK manages to retain its shape although it seems
unfeasible it will still represent a remote corner of the World between two
super-powers US and EU that will risk to be squashed with no intention. Lacking a
vision soon an island that used to represent bravery and determination will
face a brain drain from all “YES” no natives citizens that will seek for a more
promising “ship of life” to embark.
Isolation, nationalism, and xenophobia cannot be lighthouses
of 21th century depriving EU from an actor that could lead at last this huge and still problematic “human-carrier”
to another dimension parallel to US. It is more than urgent now for a political
party to denounce its EU devotion and asks for a significant and undeniable license from UK
people in oncoming democratic elections to restore its fatal mistake to rest GB
future in a reckless referendum. If not this happened and UK people choose in a
democracy fest a non-EU future then that should be their last chance and be left
to their destiny.
What is for sure is that there is not Great Britain outside
Great Europe and this will be proved very soon as the influx of hearts and
minds along with funds on the island becomes a depressive outflow…
